Pit beef was delicious & medium gravy fries was out of this world. More than I could eat!

They will give you a sample of the meat that you are going to receive. Not a bad place for pit beef sandwiches. I got the roast beef sandwich and fries and both were very good. They only have three or four stools on the inside so you're better off getting it to go

Counter service is a bit slow and the food wasn't as tasty as i was expecting.

The BBQ here is great. As far as sides go, I'd stick to anything that says "homemade"; the chili is good, the coleslaw is good, the beans taste like they are from a can, and the collards need salt/have no meat in them.The morning staff seems more hospitibal than the evening staff.

Always pretty consistent and it's very good. Service is fine. Prices are good for the portions. 4.5 stars.

First time trying this place per the request of my wife, it was terrible. Order bbq beef, yams and mac n cheese. Beef was dry as hell with a burnt flavor and sides was canned tasting. Will not be back and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Take out (one small bar top with 4 chairs) seems to be popular as I was on the road and ate at the table while the crowd filed through. Had the beef and it was fine. Needed to be heated as it was lukewarm but was good. BBQ sauce, coleslaw and beans all of which were good. Good for a sandwich on the go. They also have ribs but I did not try them.

Dinner for 2 about 25 bucks. Food is very good

I didn't like the bbq beef i got it tasted like it sat around and their mac and cheese didn't have any flavor.

Nice carry out bbq place that is fast. Father and I both got a pork sandwich and shared the Mac&cheese and baked beans. Bbq is simuy to Carolina style with vinegar and pepper flakes in it. Father found it a tad dry, but I didn't have that issue (I ate the meat witha fork, open faced). No catering, but do sell the meat in bulk by the pound for just under $13, considering using them for my wedding.

My go to spot. Pit Beef and Rueben is my favorite. Staff is always friendly and for what you get its the best $5-10 that you can spend. I highly suggest anyone to this place

New to the area so far only tried the cornbeef sandwich and it is top notch! The sides I had are Cole slaw and baked beans also made me smile. Excellente'

Their baby back ribs were just cut up pork chops. Plus they only drizzle a little bit of bbq sauce on them. Very disappointed and a waste of $14

Awesome Pit beef sandwiches!

Signature dish Pit Beef was BLAND: no smoke, no flavor but the meat was tender. I shouldn't have to add Cole slaw, vinegar and BBQ sauce to taste something. The chili cheese fries were quite good, if you like sweeter chili, but does not make up for the main dish.

This little place is great! *update* It's now moved literally inside of Sorrentos next door. I tend to go late and now the guy who runs it hasn't been there, etc. And no one there knows anything about it. Now unreliable for me anyway. Oh well. Had to remove 2 stars. I may try one more time.

This is my first and last time in this establishment. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 plus years and the one person that was taking ordered had never rang in an order before and should have had someone with him. Another employee was being very rude to him, which was very uncalled for. All of the food we got was terrible and flavorless and not cooked to the temp asked for. Was not worth it, I would rather go to the atm and head to the pit beef place that accepts cash only. It would be 10x better and be less of a headache.

Kirkwood is a great spot to go to for good inexpensive PIT/BBQ.. The service was quick and the menu was easy to understand...I ordered a pit beef sandwich on rye with BBQ sauce, horseradish, and raw onions..I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese.. The beef was cooked perfectly and all the toppings tasted fresh.. The horseradish had a bit of KICK so beware (still great 🤷🏿‍♂️).... The atmosphere was chill and laid back I was in and out with no problem.... They do have a little table to eat in but I probably would never use it ( jus me)... The prices are awesome in my opinion 😊👍...

Food is Disgusting!!!!!!! Facility needs a TOTAL renovation, lack of customer service, employees don’t wear uniform, and they did not waste hands after coming from outside using the back door or using the bathroom. Will stick to Chaps.

Extremely Aggravated!!! 4 employees talking in the back and Only one employee up front taking orders making bagging and ringing up the bill for the food. I asked for medium rare and was served over well done Pit Beef. I didn't complain. We sat Down to eat then other customers came in and had to wait to have their order taken. The first couple waited 10 minutes before their order was taken... and the second was 17 minutes before her order was taken. Excellent pit ham sandwich, piled high. Great value for the sandwich platter, $9.99 for a big sandwich and two sides. Will certainly be coming back many more times.
